If Obama were white, would you then vote for him?

I am in my 20′s, from a midwest state, and I’m not going to school in Chicago. I think my age, and the fact that I’m in college (and possibly in a very diverse city like Chicago) has helped me to see past the fact the Obama is black. I really couldn’t care less what color skin he is, what color his parents are, what religion he identifies with (although I kinda wish he didn’t at all) etc. I care about what he believes in and what he sees for the future or this country. However, my mother has told me that my grandparents will not vote for Obama simply because he is black (or part black). I was outraged! I understand the generation difference, but I don’t understand changing a vote from Hillary to McCain simply because of color. If you supported Hillary, you supported her ideas, and philosophies, NOT McCains. If Obama were 100% white would that change your vote? Or Americans? What am I missing? Why does color matter so much??

I am answering your first question. If Obama were white he would’ve never beaten Clinton. No. I would not vote for Obama if he were white.
